The pilgrimage chapel “Urlaubsstöckl”
To the municipality of Schabs belongs also the so-called “Urlaubsstöckl”, which is situated on the southern slope of Mount Spinges. This simple pilgrimage chapel was built by the curate Georg Stocker in 1641. The “Urlaubsstöckl” (the German expression Urlaub means ‘holidays’) was certainly not built by holidaymakers; the name is related to a painting in the interior of the chapel, which represents the parting of Christ from Mother Mary. Starting in Schabs, the chapel can be reached on an easy path with a breathtaking view.Sightseeing in Raas
